Chris McAndrew
Originating from deep within the Yorkshire Rhubarb Triangle, Chris began taking pictures aged 10 with a Minolta X500 he bought second hand from Bradford Camera Exchange.
Attracted by the bright lights of London, he secured a place at Chelsea School of Art to do a Fine Art Painting Degree. The course allowed him to continue his interest in photography, which subsequently went on to become his preferred medium of expression. After finishing at Chelsea, Chris assisted a handful of established photographers, following which he took the leap and struck out on his own. Based in East London with his partner Nancy and their two children, Chris is a freelance photographer working predominantly in portraiture and shooting anything from A list celebrities to cutting-edge talent both in studio and on location.
Chris is also the photographer behind the landmark MP Portraits Project which took place in a studio set up in The Reasons Room inside the Palace of Westminster during July 2017. The project was so well received that he was asked back to photograph all members of the House of Lords which took place in Summer 2018 in The Moses Room. His editorial work features regularly in many leading national publications along with music industry, PR and commercial commissions.
